The area of the Davis Creek watershed is 49 square miles. Its headwaters originate in Kanawha State Forest on the southeast end and its major tributary is Trace Fork which extends in a more southwestward direction toward Lincoln County. Davis Creek flows northwest into the City of South Charleston where it meets the Kanawha River beside the I-64 bridge between South Charleston and Dunbar.
